Debunkering

The maritime industry is continually subject to changes. When it comes to emission rules under the IMO regulation. Ships must use low-sulphur fuels (max. 0.5%, or 0.10% in ECAs such as the Baltic Sea, North Sea, North America, and the US Caribbean). Adapting to these changing regulations often require shipowners to debunker off-spec or non-compliant fuel—for instance, when it’s contaminated, or no longer needed due to repairs or expired charters.
